José Manuel Revuelta Lapique

is an Economist, with wide experience in the public and private sector at a national and international level, and a member of the Advisory Council of Equipo Económico (Ee).

He has been an Executive in several companies at different economic sectors: shipyard, cement, oil and publishing. Thus, from 2012 to 2017, he was President of Navantia, the Spanish public military and civil shipyards. Between 2005 and 2012 he served as Deputy to the Chairman, Corporate Director of Planning and Control, Grupo Cementos Portland Valderrivas (GCPV). Previously, from 1996 to 2004, he was Deputy to the Chairman, Corporate Director of Institutional Affairs, of the Repsol Group. Previously, from 1988 to 1995, he developed his career at Promotora de Informaciones S.A, PRISA, where he was, for the last four years, CEO of Structure, Editora de Cinco Dias, of Grupo PRISA. He started his professional career in 1972 at Ibérica de Planificación y Desarrollo (Iberplan).

As a professional in the public service, it is outstanding to remark his position as Economic and Commercial Counselor of the Embassy of Spain in the Czech Republic between 2018 and 2022. He held relevant positions in the Ministry of Economy, Industry and Competitiveness and in the Ministry of Economy and Commerce in the areas of international trade and investment as Commercial Technician and State Economist between 1981 and 1988.

He has also developed an extensive teaching career at the Autonomous University of Madrid (UAM) since 1975, where he has been Associate Professor, of complete courses of curricular subjects related to Worldwide Economy, the International Economic Organization, the Spanish Economy, the European Union and Economic Policy. He is currently an Honorary Professor at the Faculty of Economic and Business Sciences of the UAM.

José Manuel Revuelta is a Doctor in Economics from the Autonomous University of Madrid (Summa Cum Laude-1979) and a Commercial Technician and State Economist (1981). He holds the Grand Cross of Naval Merit, white ribbon (2017).
